Zeus was an Italian robot, named for the Greek King of the Gods. It was an aluminium compact box robot with polycarbonate protection for good resistance to damage and a tall CO2 flipper that the team boasted could throw a robot from the arena and made it look vaguely like a forklift truck. It had good pushing power, but no previous warzone experience and a 2cm ground clearance. It represented Italy in the European Championship, only to lose to the German Champion Black Hole in the first round.
Zeus was also scheduled to fight the Swedish robot Rawbot for a place in the Third World Championship at the end of Series 7. However, Zeus broke down before the battle and had to withdraw, giving Rawbot automatic qualification into the World Championship.
In Zeus' only battle, which was broadcast during Robot Wars Extreme: Series 2 and German Robot Wars, the incredible power of Black Hole was shown in the opening seconds, as Zeus' flipping blade was sheared off from the initial contact. Straight afterwards, Black Hole's discs threw Zeus onto its back. As Zeus began to recover, Black Hole threw it onto its side, then onto the remnants of its flipper, stranding it there. Zeus was hammered repeatedly by Black Hole's spinning weapons, finally succumbing to damage and breaking down. It took severe punishment from Mr. Psycho before it was counted out by Refbot and pitted.
