Trilobyte was an American robot that competed in the second season of Robot Wars: Extreme Warriors participating in the US Championship, and in the Tag Team (alongside team-mate Trackzilla), but lost both first round battles to Mad Cow Bot.
The team dressed up in business suits with dark sunglasses.
Its name originated from the Trilobite, an extinct invertebrate animal similar to a woodlouse.
Trilobyte is a roughly triangular shaped robot that ran on tracks and resembles an American turkey vulture in shape and black-and-red color scheme. Its weapon was a lifting arm/pincer combination with a pincer capable of crushing at over 500lbs. Despite the weaponry however, the robot was slow and cumbersome.
It competed against Manta and Mad Cow Bot in Round one. The team added ropes and cloths to the sides and back to entangle its opponents' spinning weapons up but it all proved to be for naught as Manta merely pushed Trilobyte around the arena and they eventually stopped moving. Mad Cow Bot ended up getting its drum caught in Trilobyte's cloth but it was too late as Trilobyte was already immobilized.
Trilobyte also competed in the Tag Team Terror along with Trackzilla against Texas Tornado and Mad Cow Bot. It started against Texas Tornado, and pressed the pit button, but after trying to damage its opponents, was held by Dead Metal. After it had been released by the House Robot, it drove into the pit.
- "Its not only a tag team, but it's a bad driving ceremony."
- — Stefan Frank as Trilobyte drives into the pit.
Trilobyte's large size meant Dead Metal tried to attack it whilst it was in the pit. Meanwhile, Trackzilla was placed on the floor flipper and thrown, eliminating it and Trilobyte from the competition.
