Trident was a robot with an axe that competed in Series 3 of Robot Wars. It was very shiny with a stainless steel bodyshell and shaped like a mailbox with a modified stair climber for the chassis. It had three wheels on each side, arranged like those of Pussycat driving the robot up to 20mph. Trident made it to the Semi-Finals in Series 3, eventually losing to Chaos 2. Like several other robots in the Semi-Finals that year, Trident did not return outside of its debut season. However, Trident was scheduled to enter Series 4 and was seeded for the competition, but dropped out at the last minute so Centurion was seeded instead. This action was soon taken out by fellow Series 3 Semi-Finalist Blade (competing as Blade's Big Bruva).

Series 3Edit

Trident was an underdog in its heat, which was to decide which robot would get the final spot in the Series Semi-Finals. Its first opponent was Twn Trwn, which was more decoration than actual threat. One axe blow from Trident cut off some of the artwork and immobilised the robot. After exchanging several ineffective blows with Victor 2, Trident broke the other robot's flail, and Victor 2 fell into the pit. Through to the heat final, Trident faced Dreadnaut, who were the favourites to win the heat. Trident's axe had little to no effect, but Dreadnaut was suffering control problems. After being hassled by Trident and Dead Metal, Dreadnaut broke down, leaving Trident as the winner. However, the house robots attacked Trident for no reason, and Shunt caved in the side of Trident's armour with its axe.

In the semi finals, Trident came up against Chaos 2. Chaos 2 got behind Trident and nearly overturned it but only managed to spin it around. However, the second flip tossed Trident onto the flame pit and upside down and, due to Trident firing its axe prematurely, therefore leaving it extended outwards in the "fired" position, it was unable to self-right. Once again, it was set upon by the House Robots, taking major damage from Dead Metal and Shunt in the process.
