Can anyone explain why my new template doesn't work? Its been copied from Template:Robot, so there might be something wrong. Can someone have a look? Toon Ganondorf (t c) 10:06, 7 July 2009 (UTC)

It should hopefully be fixed now. You forgot to change quite a few of the fields from what they were on the robot template. Christophee (talk) 12:59, 7 July 2009 (UTC)

Shouldn't this article be classed alongside the rest of the Robot Wars Personalities? BuggyBash666 :D 15:47, August 16, 2010 (UTC)

Clarkson's opinion of the show[]

Can the "declined to participate in a documentary about the series" be evidenced? It's likely to me that there was some licensing reason that prevented Jeremy from appearing in it. Matt(Talk) 08:38, July 24, 2011 (UTC)

Could this be why he left?[]

One day while randomly searching for Robot Wars stuff on Google I found this rather interesting blog post by the former producer of the show Tom Gutteridge: http://blogfromthenorth.blogspot.com/2008/01/blog-post.html

The particularly interesting part:

The second morning, just as we were getting into our stride, disaster struck. A robot being driven by a tearful eight year old was being carefully carved into tiny pieces by one of the house robots. Suddenly a circular metal blade (from a robot appropriately called “Dead Metal”) flew into the air at more than 200 miles an hour and embedded itself deep in a solid concrete wall just behind where Jeremy was standing.

When we studied the recording in slow motion, we found that the blade, rotating at a more than 6000 rpm, had missed the Clarkson scalp by less than two inches. With only a slight adjustment to the trajectory, the person now being proposed as our country’s leader would have been decapitated.

Of course within minutes the entire show had been shut down and it took a week for us to find enough bulletproof Perspex to seal off the auditorium from danger. The rest is history, except that Jeremy wisely decided his life was more valuable than our second series, and went back to abusing Skodas.

Wow, that is quite shocking. It seems like a very good reason to leave the show. Christophee (talk) 15:20, November 25, 2011 (UTC)
This is a great find, as it also seems to prove that the Demolisher had another run at the gauntlet, as it is a robot driven by an 8 year old, with an unseen flip over during the run. I wonder if we look closely enough, whether the Demolisher is more battered during the gauntlet run than in the intro. Matt(Talk) 12:22, November 26, 2011 (UTC)
Tom Gutteridge confirmed in the Q&A that Jeremy's near-decapitation did take place, but that it wasn't the reason he left. Apparently he just had other commitments and couldn't fit Robot Wars into his schedule. Christophee (talk) 13:59, February 24, 2012 (UTC)
