Robot Wars Wiki

Sergeant Bash (often abbreviated to Sgt. Bash) was one of the original four House Robots appearing in the UK robot combat show Robot Wars. Recognisable for his turret-mounted flamethrower weapon, he was used in every series of the original UK run, along with international versions commissioned for US, Dutch and German broadcasters.

Along with most of the other House Robots from the time of Series 5/Extreme 1, Sgt. Bash appears in the Game Boy Advance version of Robot Wars: Extreme Destruction, along with every other Robot Wars video game to have been released.

Appearance and Armament[]

Despite the graphical limitations of the Game Boy Advance - resulting in a very different appearance to that in the PC/Xbox version - the in-game model of Sgt. Bash is one of the more detailed House Robot representations in this version of Extreme Destruction. All of his main features are easily recognisable and proportional to real life, including the green body, hazard stripes over the side wheel plates, front pincers and the top-mounted flamethrower. The latter weapon is much more powerful than the flamethrower of the real-life machine.

Strategies[]

Against Sergeant Bash[]

Sgt. Bash's flamethrower is capable of causing real damage, and its long range makes Sgt. Bash very difficult to attack. As such, flipping robots should attempt to flip and pit Bash as quickly as possible, where as robots with spinning weapons or axes should employ hit-and-run tactics to damage Sgt. Bash and take as little damage to yourself as possible.

Differences from Real Life[]

  • Sgt. Bash's flamethrower weapon is far more powerful than in real life.
