After the main competition of Robot Wars: The Second Wars, a special episode, The Grudge Matches, was shown featuring a variety of one-off battles. These battles included the titular 'Grudge Matches' - giving robots the chance to settle scores from the first two series - as well as some featuring robots which did not take part in the main series.
The episode featuring The Grudge Matches was originally broadcast on 12 March 1999. The broadcast managed to attract 5.17 million viewers, a decrease of 1.77 million viewers when compared with the previous episode. According to BARB, this meant it fell to second in the top thirty highest rated BBC 2 broadcasts during 8-14 March, behind Red Dwarf.

Trivia[]
- As a result of the Featherweight, Middleweight Lightweight Championships being heavily abridged in the episode, various competitors in these battles did not make the televised cut. Such robots include Anarchy and Deadline from the Featherweight Championship, Scorpion from the Middleweight Championship and an Unidentified lightweight robot.
- While the main fights of this episode were filmed during the second half of filming for Series 2, the Featherweight, Lightweight and Middleweight Championships were actually filmed during the first block of six heats. This can be seen in the difference in the floor panels and the Hard Cheese team being spotted behind the scenes during the Robot Wars Revealed episode for Heat E.
