Mousetrap was a robot that competed in Series 4 and 5 of Robot Wars. It was a wedge-shaped replica of a spring mousetrap, with the trap itself being the weapon. For Series 5, the robot was known as Mousetrap 2 and a blade was added to the trap.

Mousetrap entered the wars as a newcomer, although its team had fought in the previous series with Triterobot, losing in their only battle to Evil Weevil. Incidently, they faced Evil Weevil 2, now the 12th seed, in their first round meele of the Fourth Wars along with Tiberius. Team Mousetrap had their revenge this time round, because Evil Weevil never started due to an unchanged battery. Mousetrap, already through, clashed with Tiberius, but no damage was caused. Mousetrap next faced Sumpthing. The low-tech robot attempted to destroy Mousetrap's spring, which powered the weapon. It was unsucessful, but appeared to be on top, until it was lifted off its wheels by its own forklift in a similar way to Razer in Series 3 and immoblised. Mousetrap was through, although quite luckily. In the final, it faced Little Fly. Mousetrap used its trap, but the attack was unsucessul, just like one of Little Fly's. Mousetrap then drove at it again, pushing Little Fly into Matilda's CPZ. Little Fly was able to do some more damage to Mousetrap before cease was called. The judges put Mousetrap through to the Series Semi-Final.

In the Series Semi-Final, Mousetrap faced Stinger. Here Mousetrap wasn't able to accurately hit Stinger, while the future Grand Finalist was able to land blow after blow on Mousetrap. After a time, Mousetrap's weapon stopped working, then the whole robot slowed to a stop in the centre of the arena. It was then attacked by Shunt and pitted by Sir Killalot. Mousetrap's remarkeable run ended there. However, the robot was nominated for the Most Promising Newcomer award, but lost out to Tornado.

Mousetrap's only appearance in either Extreme series was in a Mayhem in Extreme Series 1, where it was drawn against Atomic and Fighting Torque. However, a problem with its trap mechanism left it defenseless as it was continually flipped around the arena by Atomic, finally being counted out and left for Dead Metal to destroy.

Seeded 20th, Mousetrap was fortunate to pass the first round, as Shredder appeared to be controlling the battle until it lost control and drove into the pit. Mousetrap needed to beat S3 to set up a grudge match with Stinger, however S3 won on a judges decision after a fight where the pair spent the majority of the match stuck together. S3 caused major damage to one of Mousetrap's panels and ripped the decorative spring in the final few seconds, sending it through to the heat final.
