Invertabrat was a competitor robot in Series 3 and 4. In Series 4, it was known as Inverterbrat. Its weapons were a lifter and a flail. As its name suggested, Invertabrat was completely invertible. Most unusual was that it was made entirely of recycled parts. Despite its shabby appearance, it performed surprisingly well, making the heat final in Series 3, eventually losing to Beast of Bodmin. Invertabrat returned to Series 4 as one of two unseeded Series 3 heat finalists, but a malfunction on its flipper rendered it immobile in the main competition, before breaking down in the Tag Team as well.

Invertabrat rammed the Witch into insensibility, despite the flipper having no effect. After the Witch was cut apart by Dead Metal, Invertabrat qualified to meet Terrorpin. Once again, the flipper had no effect because of Terrorpin's zero ground clearance. Pushing it into the CPZ, Invertabrat was attacked by Dead Metal. After Dead Metal reversed into the pit, Invertabrat and Terrorpin chased each other around until the judges were required to name a winner and Invertabrat went through. Against Beast of Bodmin, despite lifting it up, Invertabrat could not flip its hefty opponent. Driving over, Invertabrat was attacked by the house robots. Invertabrat was immobilised, and eliminated.

Inverterbrat started promisingly, lifting the Creature twice, but then, following a grapple with Berserk 2, its lifting arm flipped back on itself, pinning it off the ground. Rendered immobile, the House Robots attacked and pitted it.
Invertabrat also participated in Tag Team Terror, with X-Terminator 2. However, the two performed badly together. After Invertabrat got stuck on its flipper yet again after excessive ramming by King B3 and 101, X-Terminator was unable to turn the tide of the battle and the team lost the judges decision. They then also lost the playoff against Bigger Brother and Plunderbird 4. For the Playoff, X-Terminator 2 had equipped its lifter instead which proved a better choice as it flipped Bigger Brother. X-Terminator was wedged underneath by Bigger Brother, until Invertabrat came out and helped out. Plunderbird 4 had broken down, leaving X-Terminator 2 and Invertabrat with strength in numbers. It lifted Bigger Brother again, but the smaller robot escaped. As X-Terminator 2 attempted to pit Plunderbird 4, Bigger Brother pushed it away, and X-Terminator 2 drove down the pit, giving Bigger Brother and Plunderbird 4 the win, with Invertabrat having also broken down in this fight.
