- "Could this be a Hammerhead shark?"
- — Jonathan Pearce
It was a rounded four-wheel driven box-shaped robot, designed to look like a Racing Car made of 3mm alloy with steel bracing, with a scoop on the front and a small hard hat (the driver's helmet) on top which housed an interchangeable axe or hammer weapon powered by a car starter motor.
Hammerhead was drawn up against Pussycat in the first round of the Third Wars. Both robots started tentatively with Pussycat attempting to use its saw. Hammerhead was moving very slowly and missed a few times with its axe/hammer, which it then got stuck in the arena floor. Hammerhead seemed to break down and Pussycat slowly pushed it towards the pit and then into it. Hammerhead was eliminated from the competition.
