"They call it a dragon-class rapid offensive unit with wings...but its vulnerable to knights in shining armour..."
— Jonathan Pearce

Chompalot was a competitor in Series 6 of Robot Wars. It was a box shaped robot with a large crushing beak and wings for self-righting. The robot was based off a dragon, and featured a zero turning circle and powerful weaponry, the largest pincer jaw in the Sixth Wars. Although it did not have much success in the main competition, it managed to win the Iron Maidens competition in Extreme 2, defeating Behemoth and Pussycat along the way. It failed to qualify for Series 5 and Series 7.

[edit] Rivalry

"We are a bit aggrieved at 13 Black for continuing to go at us after we were immobilised, I mean the house robots can have their fun, that's fair enough, but what they did was over the top. I wondered if they thought there might have been a judges' decision because Stinger didn't do anything, and thought that they should completely stuff us so we couldn't possibly continue? Who knows? At any rate when we next meet 13 Black in the arena there will be a reckoning, and next time we won't be so easy to defeat!"
— Chompalot's promise

Chompalot had an unlived rivalry with the 13 Black machine. The duo had fought in Series 6, with the dragon robot coming out second best. The Chompalot team had been aggrieved by the damage done by 13 Black to their machine, accusing 13 Black of going over the top in fear of a judges' decision. Both sides pledged a rematch, but unfortunately, Chompalot failed to qualify for Series 7, and the grudge went unlived.

[edit] Series 6

"Ouch"

Series 6 appearance

Chompalot pulled an unlucky competition in its only appearance, coming up against 13 Black, Stinger and Thermidor 2. After the activate call, it rammed into 13 Black, bounced away, and collided with Thermidor 2. Chompalot chased the other robots around the arena, grabbing hold of 13 Black's roulette wheel and dragging it over the flame pit. Then the beak caught hold of Stinger. As Stinger pulled free, 13 Black smashed Chompalot with its discs, immobilising it. It was counted out and tossed across the floor flipper, before being pitted by Dead Metal.

[edit] Extreme 2

Chompalot's only appearance in Extreme was the Iron Maidens competition. Its first battle was against Pussycat and Spin Doctor. Chompalot began by attacking Spin Doctor with its jaws, clamping onto it and preventing the Doctor from spinning. It dragged Spin Doctor into Shunt's CPZ, and then Pussycat damaged it with its blade. Chomplaot grabbed Spin Doctor again, and one of Spin Doctor's tyres fell off, rendering it immobile. In the semi-final, Behemoth flipped Chompalot, but Shunt drove out of the CPZ and righted it. The robots danced around each other until Behemoth mistakenly drove into the CPZ, where Chompalot restrained it while Shunt axed it until its safety link fell out. In the final, Chompalot simply grabbed hold of Pussycat, hit the pit release, and dumped Pussycat into the descending pit to earn the title of Iron Maidens champion.
